Sarah has a keen interest in designing environments that are inclusive and sensitive to the needs of those with restrictive mobility and or sight.  Previously Sarah has been awarded the ’Access Design Prize’ presented by the RIBA South West Region, and continues to explore accessibility issues in all her designs.

Sarah’s architectural approach is to design in response to the requirements and desires of the individual client whilst considering and respecting the environmental context in which the building design solution is to reside.

Jay Coughlan

BA(Hons)Arch Pg.DipArch(Plym) RIBA

Director

jaycoughlan@studio-c-architects.com

Jay’s personal experience consists of 25+ years in private and public architectural practice commencing at Exeter City Council Property and Planning, working on residential and public building works. During his career he has worked on many education and school projects both in the public and private sector.  Other private practice work includes a variety of projects and building types for clients such as British Telecom, The Royal Post Office, Tesco and Exeter University.  Jay has enjoyed working on high quality office developments and ‘high end’ private housing in the London area, as well as one off private residential commissions, secure projects for the National Offenders Management Service and delivery of healthcare projects for Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust.

Jay has a keen personal interest in construction detailing and materials and believes that the articulation of design detail is of as much importance as the general arrangement of space within a given project.  In this way even the most modest of projects can become exciting, special and unique as well as responding to and meeting the client needs.
